The Herd
The real work is done by our specially trained herd. All of our horses have been selected for this work due to their outstanding temperament. They enter a six month training program where they are further evaluated. They are truly a unique and loving herd!!
phoebe

Phoebe is our lead mare – a Morgan and one of the “truest”
friends a gal can have. She is honest,
patient, determined, amicable to some degree, and extremely intelligent with
eyes that pierce your soul. If you are in need of a pal she will not leave
your side and if you are in need of a lift she will be happy to carry you
through. She motivates an entire herd on
a daily basis with poise and grace. In
the pasture, it is Phoebe who makes the decisions that take care of our horses. She is breathtaking – she is gentle – she is
one of the daughters of Ice Storm.
ethan

Ethan is a Morgan in every sense. He is rugged and solid on a trail. He is eighteen years old. Ethan’s strength is
based in his endurance and sensitivity. He is so happy to be here in his forever home
with the love of his life, Phoebe. He does not back away from a scary situation
and protects his herd. His confidence
motivates us to realize our own.
jude

Jude is our thirteen year old Haflinger. He is a level two
dressage horse who has happily moved from one arena of fans to another. He is
light catching, captivating, powerful and majestic and so very caring toward others. His stocky build is but a glimpse of the size
of his heart. He reaches out to people
availing him to assist them and consistently carries them through challenges
which are hard to overcome. He is
consistent and patient, kind and giving.
mIDNIGHT Joker

Joker was a rodeo pony.
He is the horse who gets along with his herd. His personality is extremely accepting and he
is very relaxed in any given situation.
He loves ART BARN and remains patient for hours at a time as clients use
him as a “live canvas” or model. He
helps us remember the relevance of walking meditation and the gift that is today.
Nvwait

NvNvati means "good medicine" in Cherokee. He is a descendent of Native American Spirit horses from the Cherokee Nation. His eyes are blue - meaning he is a messenger horse. He is always calm and gentle, and has always trusted people and will allow us to do most anything with him. He reminds us to live in the moment and to trust others. He reminds us it doesn't hurt to roll in the dirt. He was born May 21, 2014.
Rainbow

Rainbow is a descendent of the Lakota Nation Spirit Horses. She and Nvwati are both part of a special breeding program trying to save the species. She is a very unique, small girl born September 16, 2013. She is brave, curious, and a natural leader. She loves attention and will do whatever is needed to get attention. Both she and Nvwati are exceptionally calm and gentle souls.
zeus

Zeus is the largest horse on the farm in his mind, although in
reality he is an American Mini. He is seven years old and he teaches us each and every day that
size does not matter. Others do not bully
him and he does not bully others. He is
the lead in our Nvwati Stop bullying programs for mainstream community
awareness. He enjoys helping kids of all
ages realize their most amazing qualities are those that make them unique.
Buzz

Buzz is seven years old. He is an award winning Arabian who left the road to the congress when he found his forever family and they chose to add him as the newest member of our therapeutic herd. He is full of potential and quickly leaping over all of the hurdles training offers. His curious nature provides an endless array of new adventures everyday. Because he has the ability to see the world and many things in it as new and different, he has the unique ability to teach humans to experience each moment of life.
blue

Our Australian Shepherd in training--he is eighty pounds of loving energy in blue merrill clothing.
hayleigh

Although Hayleigh is twelve years old, she acts as if she is a pup. She has a young spirit and dives headfirst into every new situation without fear and serves as an inspiration to us all. She has only recently been introduced to the farm, but acts as if she has been here forever. Hayleigh loves others unconditionally and without reservation.
In loving memory of Dan

Dan had a career as a champion Event Horse until a tragic jumping accident caused him to mistime a gate and destroy his back leg. His second career was as a champion for abused children. He patiently worked with them as well as other members of his herd to teach us how to be more patient, kind and loving. He passed away in 2014 surrounded by Zeus and people who knew and loved him. He continues to live with each of us every day as the kindness he showed to others is passed on to each who come here.
